When Bobby Southworth walked out of the cage after hearing that he dropped a close decision to Stephan Bonnar, he pointed at reality show teammate Sam Hoger and yelled that he was a traitor. It was a moment of raw emotion from the former college basketball point guard, the type of stuff that draws fans to reality shows.

Wow, didn't realize all these guys were gonna fight.

Bonnar should be the favorite, IMO, not Griffin.
And Leben ought to kill Thacker.

But then you know lots more about this than I do.
Thanks for the info.

I like Bonnar too. He is a good striker from what Ive seen, and if he lands a hard right, that cut will open right back up. The only thing I wonder is when these fights took place. If it was back in the fall, or even january, then Forrest has had enough time to heal and should be good to go. It will prob be the best fight of the night.

southworth will decapitate hoger.....sanchez should handle florian....

griffin`s losses were to jeremy horn and dan severn.....not to shabby...he`s fought the much tougher guys...

i`ll say this...bonnar looks huge in the ring...he`s a big-boned guy that can box...he has some stand-up skills...didn`t impress me on the ground vs the much smaller swick...

that cut on griffin would be enough to make me leary to play him laying 1.5...

sanchez has 11 wins...10 by stoppage....most via submission....he beat an all american wrestler in koshak....despite being at a physical and athletic disadvantage....the guy`s pretty damned vesatile...

florian will need another miracle to pull this out....

i think i`ll parlay sanchez and southworth to bring the odds down...

Should be a good show.

Griffin's cut is a non-issue. The show was taped in September-October. He is by FAR the more seasoned guy, and I'm surprised Joey made him such a small favorite. He has solid wins over Monson and Braga, and is one of the few guys who would've probably wound up in the UFC anyway. Don't let his passive performance against Hogar fool you. He was just making sure the cut wasn't going to split wide open.

Florian has a better chance against Diego than the odds indicate.

Best bets on the card are Griffin over Bonnar and Franklin over Shamrock. Ken is going to gas early and hard. Tito Ortiz - who has the WORST stand-up in the UFC's LHW division - beat him into tenderloin. Imagine what Franklin is going to do to him. Stupid fight, as again Zuffa refuses to acknowledge that people want to see the old-timers win, not get mauled.

florian has a better chance?.......based on what?....his 1-1 record?....

or getting beaten all over the ring before hitting the lottery vs leban?.....

my guess is he`ll get submitted....

we`ll see...

was gonna go to these fights as they are at Cox Pavilion in Vegas.

They want around $450 for ringside and the cheapest seats are $150.

I think I'll pass, I could afford it but feel like that's a ripoff.

I said he has a better chance than the odds indicate. I'm not betting on him. He has a good ground game and Diego isn't going to steamroll him.

The only plays on the card for me are Franklin over Shamrock and Griffin over Bonnar.

agree on the franklin play...and i agree with griffin rightfully being favored....but,even though 5 months has passed, that cut was in a very bad spot...bonnar is tall...and fights tall...likes stand-up...and appears to be very good at it....

he`s a big, bony guy that looks very strong for the weight..

if i were in griffin`s corner,i`d instruct him to take bonnar to the mat...

southworth is no stiff...and he hung with him...

should be a very good bout...ashamed it`s not televised...

Ill be honest, as far as Franklin-Shamrock go, I think Kenny could hurt him with a shot, but he def will gas. Ive still never been that impressed with Franklin, he is solid, but doesnt really do anything great. Shamrock should have the upperhand early, as I know he is old but I still think he has a strength advantage. I prob wont touch him anyways.
By the way Royler, I remember back in October, when Franklin took on Rivera, and you were saying how Franklin wasnt all that, and you thought Rivera had a good chance. Im just curious what you saw to change your mind on him. Rivera did have him rocked, but he ran out of steam. I wasnt impresssed by him that much in his win. I wouldnt go against Shamrock here but thats me.

Also I think that Zuffa, and the UFC, is trying to build new stars. I would love to see Shamrock fight Kimo, Tank and other washed up guys, and Ko them, but using Kens name, if someone beats him, can make Rich Franklin into a star. Alot of people will be watching this tonight, as it is free, and everyone knows Shamrock from UFC and the WWF, and now alot of people will know Rich Franklin. I dont think its that bad of a move.

Im not that surprised Southworth lost. I didnt know Sam had it in him, but Southworth just seemed like he was all talk to me on the show. All I know guys is we just saw what is equal to the UFC version of Gatti-Ward tonight. Just got a feeling we will see them in a rematch.

Hope people watched the show tonight - Griffin/Bonnar is Fight of the Year material. The UFC could not have scripted a better spot for their first stint on free TV.

"By the way Royler, I remember back in October, when Franklin took on Rivera, and you were saying how Franklin wasnt all that, and you thought Rivera had a good chance."

Taking Rivera at nearly +300 when Rich was moving down to middleweight for the first time is not something I regret. I feel Franklin is best at 205 - he's got the frame for it. Obviously, he disagrees, as he's moving right back down there.

But all that aside...I would take practically any modern-day MMA fighter over Ken Shamrock. None of these guys (Shamrock, Frye, Tank) have ever come off a layoff to beat a top-ten guy in this era. It just does not happen. The heelhook did look a little scary, and I have a lot of respect for Ken, but he's no real threat to someone well-rounded and that much younger. When you're betting on a guy whose last significant win was in 1995, you have problems.
